DESCRIPTION:The Greater Lowell Community Foundation (GLCF) will host its Annual Meeting on Tuesday\, June 9\, at UMass Lowell Coburn Hall. The event is free and open to the public\, but registration is required. \n  \nThe evening will begin with a reception and networking at 5 p.m.\, followed by the program at 6 p.m. The program will feature two nonprofit leaders whose organizations have received grants through GLCF’s 2025 grantmaking cycle: Lisa Ansara\, Executive Director of the Lowell Youth Leadership Program\, and Alexandra DePalo\, Executive Director of Open Table. \nThe evening will also feature the presentation of the Spring 2026 Bankers’ Volunteer Award for Lifetime Achievement\, which will be presented to Bill and Jan Haddad\, Founders of On the Move\, Inc. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to community service\, measurable impact\, and creativity in responding to neighborhood and community needs. Bill and Jan Haddad founded On the Move with a mission to increase the learning potential of young children from lower-income families by improving their reading skills to match those of their middle- and upper-income peers. Through their work in the Greater Merrimack Valley Region\, On the Move works to close the Preparation Gap prior to kindergarten and the Achievement Gap by the end of third grade. \nREGISTER

DESCRIPTION:The Greater Lowell Community Foundation (GLCF) will host its Annual Meeting on Tuesday\, June 10\, 2025\, at UMass Lowell Coburn Hall (850 Broadway St\, Lowell\, MA). The event is free and open to the public\, but registration is required. \n \nThe evening will begin with a reception and networking at 5 p.m.\, followed by the program at 6 p.m. The keynote speaker\, Kendra Bauer\, a longtime educator at Lowell High School\, will present “The Power of Building Community.” \nA dedicated teacher for 22 years\, Kendra specializes in courses on race\, gender\, and identity in literature\, as well as Early College and Dual Enrollment programs. She is also an adjunct professor at UMass Lowell and Middlesex Community College. Beyond the classroom\, she leads the Lowell High Outdoor Adventures Club and serves as faculty advisor for Students Making Change\, a student-led anti-racist initiative. \nIn her keynote\, Kendra will share her experiences in fostering community within the classroom and beyond.
