Welcome

Founded in 1997, the Community Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Greater Lowell, Nashoba and western Merrimack Valley regions of Massachusetts through philanthropic leadership and service.

The Community Foundation serves as a gateway to strategic philanthropy, charitable giving and volunteerism for individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and corporations. We are a resource for donors to create permanent endowment funds and planned gifts, and to help the community become better connected to resources, linking donors with unique opportunities to create practical investments and imaginative solutions in our communities.

Through its portfolio of more than 200 community endowments and grant services the Community Foundation has allocated more than $3,500,000 to:

  • Enable deserving high school students to pursue college, university and vocational study through scholarships created by hundreds of donors
  • Strengthen the organizational capacity of the region’s most promising and established nonprofit groups through open and competitive grant making
  • Fulfill philanthropic aspirations of donors everywhere interested in improving the quality of life in their communities
  • Establish endowments with donors and nonprofit organizations to foster the creation of nonprofit institutions

Please join us to strengthen our communities – forever.
