GLCF Site Visit 2021: Stone Soup Kitchen Ministries

Ayer, Mass. – The GLCF Grants Team: Jennifer Aradhya and Sharon Kim stopped by to meet one of our nonprofit partners and grant recipient Stone Soup Kitchen Ministries. Director Cyndi Lavin gave us a tour and shared some exciting improvement projects that are underway to enhance their ability to serve the community. There were so many stories shared during our visit, but we will share this one:

From Cyndi Lavin, Stone Soup Kitchen Ministries

“A gentleman showed up for the pantry who had walked from the campground he was living at in Littleton (appx. 6 miles away.)  His truck had broken down and he was stuck at the campground with his father until the truck could be repaired.  We were able to load him up with a lot of “peel and eat” and fresh foods, and one of our generous donors who “just happened” to be there at the time gave him a ride back to the campground so that we could give him even more than he’d have been able to carry.”

We are grateful to return to meeting our partners in person and seeing firsthand how nonprofits are making a strong impact in the community.
