Braven Professional Mentor Program – Summer ’26
For more information, and to submit a Professional Mentor application, please click here: https://braven.org/volunteer/professional-mentor/
Professional Mentors provide personalized coaching and support to college students or recent graduates as they work to secure an internship or job.
By the time they meet their Professional Mentors, Mentees have already completed Braven’s signature semester-long career course that builds the skills, experience, confidence, and professional network college students need to successfully land a strong first job after graduation that’s worthy of their college degree. They’re ready to take their next steps toward launching their careers, but they’re facing barriers. Maybe they’ve never had an internship before, they’re struggling with confidence, or they’ve been unable to make time for career exploration.
Over the course of 12 weeks, Professional Mentors meet with their Mentees in weekly, virtual, hour-long sessions. As you help your Mentee determine their immediate next steps, you’re also building strong relationships and helping tomorrow’s leaders shape the rest of their lives. You have the opportunity to be a key piece of Braven’s work to empower Fellows with the skills, experience, confidence, and network they’ll need to pursue a career worthy of their degree.
Our summer program runs June 15 – September 4.
This commitment requires computer and internet access. Professional Mentors and Mentees meet on Zoom and all workshops take place on Zoom as well.
Restorative Reentry Volunteer Training: May 2026 THRIVE Community Training – Circles of Support & Accountability
Please e-mail questions to volunteer@thrivema.org
A restorative reentry training for community members seeking to support our neighbors transitioning from incarceration.
THRIVE’s Community Training on Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) is an experiential exploration of the meaning, guidelines and impact of Restorative Circles in reentry. Throughout the course of the training, participants will:
- Explore the support and accountability systems of both themselves and prospective Core Members (returning citizens).
- Gain understanding of the state-enforced conditions (rules) that Core Members must follow when released from prison.
- Explore the experiences of the victims of prospective Core Members.
- Explore and understand program and personal boundaries that support healthy relationships and community wholeness.
- Explore the process, challenges and supportive factors of personal change.
- Gain understanding and exposure to Circle Meeting process through film and role plays.
By the end of the day, participants will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a CoSA volunteer within the THRIVE Community.
This training is modeled after the Vermont Department of Corrections and Community Justice Center Network of Vermont’s COSA training. It is designed to help community members become stronger allies for, with, and among our neighbors transitioning from incarceration.

Farming Volunteer
Farming Volunteer
For more details, please review our volunteer information and then sign up to volunteer.
From early April through late October, we welcome thousands of helping hands working outside with us, rain or shine. Our community of volunteers is broad-based, often including:
- Individuals ages 15 and up
- Families with children ages 5 and up
- Education groups: schools, colleges, alumni, homeschool coops
- Religious groups
- Community groups: scouts, camps, senior citizens, civic organizations
- Special needs groups
- Corporate teams
What to Expect
At the farm pavilion, volunteers receive an introduction to Gaining Ground and our hunger-relief role.
Our farmers provide an overview of what’s going on at the farm and the tasks they’ve lined up, based on the skills and abilities of that day’s volunteers.
Volunteers work alongside our staff — planting, mulching, cultivating, harvesting, washing.
At the end of your visit, a farmer returns with you to the pavilion to share observations and experiences.
