Position Title: Programs & Communications Associate
Reports To: Director of Arts Initiatives
Status: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Location: Lowell, MA (hybrid)
Position Summary
The Programs & Communications Associate supports the Greater Lowell Community Foundation’s arts portfolio — Mosaic Lowell and Arts Elevate — along with foundation-wide marketing and strategy work. This role keeps two of GLCF’s most visible community-facing programs running smoothly through meeting coordination, event logistics, communications, and partner follow-through, and contributes to broader foundation marketing efforts. The Associate is a critical connector across program leads, partners, artists, and the communities GLCF serves.
Time Allocation
• 15 hours/week — Mosaic Lowell
• 15 hours/week — Arts Elevate
• 10 hours/week — GLCF Cross Foundation tasks
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Meeting Support
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with internal team members, nonprofit partners, embedded artists, and advisory groups
• Prepare agendas, capture meeting notes, track action items, and follow up on commitments
• Maintain shared project documentation, timelines, and program calendars
Event Logistics
• Support planning and execution of program events including showcases, training sessions, community gatherings, and partner convenings
• Coordinate vendors, venues, registration, materials, signage, and day-of logistics
• Manage post-event documentation and follow-up
Communications & Content
• Develop and maintain a unified social media content calendar across Mosaic Lowell and Arts Elevate
• Draft program briefs, project updates, and short-form copy for the GLCF newsletter
• Coordinate collection of visual assets (photos, short video) from program activities and events
• Ensure all communications align with GLCF and program brand standards and use asset-focused, community-centered language
Partner & Stakeholder Follow-up
• Track partner commitments and deliverables across grant cycles and active program activities
• Manage outreach and follow-up communications with nonprofit partners, artists, and grantees
• Maintain contact lists, distribution lists, and stakeholder records in coordination with the grants manager
Foundation Marketing & Strategy Support
• Support GLCF on cross-foundation marketing and communications projects
• Contribute to foundation-wide initiatives that intersect with the arts and other program areas
• Assist with special projects, campaign-related deliverables, and strategic initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• 1–3 years of experience in program coordination, communications, events, or nonprofit administration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities across program leads
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Calendar, Gmail), Canva, WordPress, project management tools, social media platforms, and email marketing systems
• Demonstrated interest in arts, culture, community engagement, or nonprofit work
Preferred
• Experience in a community foundation, nonprofit, or arts/cultural organization
• Familiarity with grant cycles and grantee communications
• Connection to Greater Lowell’s 21 communities
• Experience drafting copy for newsletters, social media, and event materials
• Multilingual capacity (Khmer, Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages spoken in Greater Lowell) is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range for this position is $45,000 – $55,000, commensurate with experience. GLCF offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement contributions, paid time off, and professional development support.
