Arts Elevate is the Greater Lowell Community Foundation’s comprehensive initiative to improve wellness and strengthen communities through creative engagement across the Greater Lowell region. Developed through GLCF’s participation in the Barr Foundation’s Creative Commonwealth Initiative, Arts Elevate operates on the principle that when people engage in art, they discover what they are capable of, who they are, how they belong, and how they contribute to the world around them.

We believe that creativity isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential for our community. The question isn’t whether arts can heal; it’s whether we’re bold enough to make healing through arts the norm, not the exception.

GLCF’s Arts Elevate program is being developed with lead funding from the Barr Foundation through its Creative Commonwealth Initiative.

The Arts Elevate Embedded Artist Toolkit is now available — a practical, field-tested guide for youth-serving organizations ready to bring a professional artist into their programming.

Built from a year of learning with four incredible Greater Lowell partners and four extraordinary artists, this toolkit captures what we discovered: when art meets community, transformation follows.

Free. Adaptable. Yours to use.
